In 2205, we had been worrying over the Fermi Paradox for nearly three centuries.  Why were we alone?  If we weren’t alone, why did we have no Contact with aliens?  Many theorized that we either had not been in space long enough to find aliens.  We had only been in the stars for a century.  We had no real right to expect to be the ones who initiated Contact.  The truly important question was whether we had been in existence long enough to be found.
