Hurricane Harvey continues to plague as today, as he will for months to come. He created a new Great Lake the size of most States. That will take some time to drain away.

We’ve seen humanity at its best these last few days. Whether they be the Cajun Navy made up of hundreds of flat-bottomed boats, local Peacekeepers in their duty vehicles, or National Guard rescue craft, brave examples of humanity have gone out to rescue tends of thousands of people from their flooding houses and businesses.

And we’ve seen the worst of humanity, as looters broke into houses and businesses during this time of crisis.

It will take months and years for people to recover from this. They will need our help now, while the flood waters are high, and later when the ground is dry. They will need us in these desperate hours when their need is splashed on every screen, and they will need us months from now when most of us have forgotten them.
