I have been working on Wolfenheim for ten years. I\u2019ve always known what I wanted to do with it. It is a difficult subject in more than one way, and I have gone back and forth over whether or not to follow that original idea, and other projects have taken me in other directions. And then of course there was my mom\u2019s two-year fight with cancer. That hammered my time and energy for writing. I forced time last year to finish it, but my mental energies weren\u2019t fully there yet, and a friend of mine told me it just wasn\u2019t ready. So I took another look at and realized she was right. In the end, the much-improved story will be both true to my original plan, and also different.
