My mom was in hospice a year ago today. She\u2019d been fighting cancer for the better part of two years and she was done. Her body was all out of fight. I was at work and the nurses called me to say I needed to get there because she was fading. I got there in time to tell her I loved her. And that it was okay to go. I would be okay. She wasn\u2019t awake, but I like to think she heard me. The nurses told me lots of their patients wait until their loved ones are gone, and that\u2019s what mom did.
