Son of a rich merchant in the upper middle class, Bill grew up with a Kentucky Long Rifle in his hands and a horse under his bum.  The Continental Congress asked for volunteers, so he crossed the Delaware on Christmas 1776 to hunt some Hessians.  A Hessian vampire hunted him right back and got a piece of him.
