Today is my mother’s birthday. It is hitting me harder this year than most.<\/p>\n
She died of a particularly aggressive and painful form of cancer.<\/p>\n
And yes, she did take the covid shots. And I don’t know if those two things are linked, but there is a lot of reporting that they are.<\/p>\n
And this year it is just hitting me harder than before. I’m feeling it more. I miss her.<\/p>\n
I look around the house that once belonged to her and I wish she still owned it. I wish she was still here.<\/p>\n
I wish I could see her today. Maybe get a Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake for her. Something. Anything.<\/p>\n
I wish she was here.<\/p>\n
And yet I know that where she is now, she is no longer feeling the pain of that cancer. She is beyond that at least.<\/p>\n
