America did something unthinkable Five Years Ago this week.<\/p>\n
We had a new President who wanted to bring the boys home for a big photo op so he ordered them to abandon one of the world’s largest air bases. And the prison full of terrorists attached to it. Those terrorists got out and started taking over the country, and everyone with a brain wanted out. Once he realized how bad the collapse of a country and locals hanging onto the landing gear of American planes leaving it looked, he sent the military back in to secure the civilian airport in the middle of the capital city. Without clear orders to be able to defend themselves or shoot the terrorists when they saw them. And because of all of that, one of those escaped terrorists blew themselves up at the Abbey Gate and filled it full of the blood of our Marines and their own local citizens.<\/p>\n
He abandoned some of the best military hardware on the planet to the terrorists. Trained fighting dogs. Rifles. Tanks. Helicopters. He gave the terrorists lists of locals who worked with us so of course they ended up dead. And now that the terrorists are in charge again, the women of that country are no longer allowed to go to school or be independent people anymore. They are possessions again, just like that religion and culture have made them everywhere they take over.<\/p>\n
Five Years Ago, the country was not free. But it was better than it is now. Better than it had been since the 1970s. And because that new President abandoned it the way he did, a generation of people who grew up with more liberties than their parents had, are once again slaves to darkness. And now everyone in the world knows that the next President of America could betray them the same way and bring down another country. That is the precedent he sent to the world. Painted in the blood of our Marine Corps and more locals than I think we will ever know.<\/p>\n
