Gamma Hydrae is an odd system. We hadn\u2019t colonized it yet when the Peloran made Contact. It was over a hundred lightyears from Earth, and nearly as far away from other inhabited systems. It was in a dead-end region of space that we just didn\u2019t bother with. After we got the Peloran hyperdrives though we finally managed to go there. Of course there wasn\u2019t a lot there.
