The Austin-class destroyers were the epitome of American ingenuity during the early days of The War. Built to kill Terran and alien capital ships, they were designed to both support American capital ships and cruise on their own. And though they used Peloran technologies, they were built of entirely American construction and understanding and proved part of the valuable bootstrapping process that brought us through The War in one piece.<\/p>\n
