When I was young, my family had a dog.\u00a0 A normal one, no uplifting.\u00a0 He was a part of the family, and I grew up with him.\u00a0 I was twenty when he died.\u00a0 I remember the vet having to tell us he was gone because we couldn\u2019t tell.\u00a0 He had always lain that still in the months before he went.\u00a0 I still think he only lived as long as he did because he wanted to be with us a little longer.\u00a0 I never could have a natural dog after that.\u00a0 Losing him hurt too much.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
