My family lost decades of carefully selected politicians, department heads, and industrial magnates when the Shang destroyed Washington DC. The junior Senator from Colorado had never been one of those selected elite and she did not do as the family wished after becoming President. My family tried to remove her as they have so many other troublesome Presidents. There was nothing personal there, you understand. She was standing between my father and the power he thought was his due. It was merely business. But he was my father. And so everything between us was deeply personal.
