We didn’t give you our technologies at Contact of course. Not most of them. We gave you better hyperdrives and the basis of gravtech, but beyond that we didn’t give you anything. We gave your scientists hints and helped them develop the technologies, but you found them. You built them. You flew through millennia of technologies in a hundred years and changed the worlds you lived in. We helped. You did it. That made all the difference.
The Austin-class destroyers were the epitome of American ingenuity during the early days of The War. Built to kill Terran and alien capital ships, they were designed to both support American capital ships and cruise on their own. And though they used Peloran technologies, they were built of entirely American construction and understanding and proved part of the valuable bootstrapping process that brought us through The War in one piece.

The overthrow of the German government in the Twentieth Century combined the worst elements of the Genetic Puritan and National Socialist movements into a single unholy alliance that haunts us to this day. They built Germany into an economic and military powerhouse. And they terrorized those they decided were genetically inferior. When they reached out to conquer the world they introduced it to death camps and earned the most hated name in history. Nazi.
Gamma Trianguli is out near the Hyades Cluster so the Chinese defended it real hard during The War. I never really understood why. It’s not like it’s a nice place to live. I mean the star’s sorta funky and sends off all kinds of nasty radiation. It always amused me that the Chinese had to rely on complex computer programs running a series of sunshades to protect the world from solar radiation. Ironic considering their distaste for cybers.
We truly are no longer what we were when The War began. We came from every cybernetic family at first. Peloran. Terran. Even the Aesiran and Arnam families sent representatives to fight on our side. By War’s end we all became Terran. We brought our differences and our uniqueness and made our family the best of the cybernetic families. Though I may be biased.
