Debate

by Medron Pryde on October 2, 2024 at 12:01 am

The Vice-Presidential Debate between JD Vance and Tim Walz and The Moderators went down Tuesday night. To start with, if you want to get a girl, get a girl that looks at you the way CBS moderators look at Walz. They looked like they were in love to me.

Secondly, the choice of questions was pretty much what I expected of CBS. Focusing on questions they planned to hurt the Republican with and avoiding questions that would hurt the Democrat.

Thirdly, the debate had a no fact-checking rule between the candidates and the moderators. So the moderators decided to fact-check Vance. He called them on breaking the rules, and then proceeded to tell them how their fact-check was dishonest. At which point they cut his mic, aimed obnoxious smiles at him, and told him that the audience couldn’t hear him because they cut the mics. And then went on to the next question.

I don’t know how much this is going to change the election, and I don’t know what the general public is going to think about this, but they lived down to my faith in them. The moderators broke the rules, were dishonest, and were obnoxious about it, all at the same time. Which sadly is what I expect of the mainstream media.

Assassinations

by Medron Pryde on October 1, 2024 at 12:01 am

Another month has gone by. Two assassination attempts now. How many press conferences have we had about them? How often have the investigating officers briefed us on their findings? Do we know who the shooters were talking to? Where they got their weapons? Or is the news media talking about other things?

Remember that the people who have spent the last decade calling their political opposition traitors, assets of foreign powers, racists, or worse than Hitler are running the system that is supposed to protect their political opposition. And they have allowed two shooters to get within shooting range of their political opposition. And that’s just this election cycle.

Trump’s been shot once already. How many more times will he be shot at before election day? Or after election day if he wins?

Good Terrorists

Israel has been busy turning bad terrorists into good terrorists lately. Hezbollah has been lobbing missiles and such at them for a while now, to the point that Israeli civilians had to leave the northern parts of Israeli for their own safety. Well after a series of really awesome plans kicked off, they nailed terrorists by tracking phones or detonating pagers and walkie talkies. And now they are just striking the terrorists from the air, absolutely taking marks off the American most wanted list in batch lots. These are guys on the list for unaliving Americans. And Israel is taking them off the board. Israel is absolutely smoking the terrorists, and that is good for civilization as a whole.

Hurricane

by Medron Pryde on September 29, 2024 at 12:01 am

I would not be surprised if they decided to retire the name of the hurricane that just hit our southern States. News from many of the regions hit is still spotty because the electrical and communications grids were flooded out. Entire counties are under water according to some reports. I’ve seen pictures of entire neighborhoods drowned out. Some entire State regions have no roads currently operational. Travel is by air or by boat only. If things pan out the way reports suggest, this will be declared a full on disaster zone. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. They need help.

Transformers One

by Medron Pryde on September 28, 2024 at 12:01 am

I saw Transformers One today and loved it.

It was a good story, filled with characters that shined in both the characters they were at the moment and the characters they would become. The foreshadowing was well done, and the ragtag band of misfits was awesome to watch go through the movie. I enjoyed it from beginning to end, and consider it one of the best Transformers movies made.

Unlike the live action movies, every character was designed to look like their G1 appearance, even while being different. Like protoforms, you could see what they would become when the toys and cartoon were made on Earth. In this way, it is basically a prequel of the original cartoon. It takes place entirely on Cybertron, so all of the alternate modes are Cybertronian, but once again you can see what they would become when they went to Earth in those modes.

This is true not only of the main characters but also of all the background characters who never even spoke. The backgrounds of many scenes are filled with dozens or hundreds of unique characters. Yes, there are many vehicon drones in some of the scenes, but other scenes are filled with Transformers that have graced the toy shelves for 40 years. Unique color schemes, heads, and body builds spread throughout the scenes. I could see the differences between Ironhide and Sideswipe. Both were background characters with no speaking lines, but they looked uniquely different even though both were candy apple red.

Pink bots, blue bots, green bots, white bots, hundreds of Transformers sprinkled the backgrounds of the scenes, and the inner Transformers geek in me loved scanning the crowds and putting names to each of them. Yes, I am one of those people who will buy the movie and pause it on some of those scenes to see how many characters I can identify. Hehehe. Just the quick glimpses I had in the theatre reminded me of all the bots I wanted or got as a kid. And now. 😉

It was a fun movie, and I could tell the people making it wanted to show us the characters we grew up with, even if only for seconds in many cases. I love it when people make a movie for the fans. It shines with fun and this is no exception.
