A famous author wrote a line that many people now quote. “When you tear out a man’s tongue, you are not proving him a liar. You are only telling the world that you fear what he might say.” The leftists are afraid of words that counter their narratives, or mock them. That is why they ban such words on social media. See their reaction to being called groomers when they sought to teach sex ed to toddlers. Or they change the meaning of words in hopes of removing the very ideas that oppose them. The primary meaning of the word “regulated” was “trained” when a famous work using that word was signed. They say that words are violence, but violence is peaceful. Disagreeing with any of their pronouncements is a thoughtcrime that must be silenced.
Leftists cannot abide people speaking against them, because their arguments cannot withstand the light of truth. That is why they always seek to silence what they call disinformation. If you disagree with them on their platforms, they will demonetize you, silence you, or even ban you. See social media’s final solution to Trump. If you go somewhere else and build a new platform to say the things they don’t want you to say, they will seek to destroy the platform. Look at Gab or Parler. If you buy one of their platforms and try to make it more open, they will fight you at every opportunity. See Twitter. And commentators that reach many people must be shut down. See Alex Jones, and now Tucker. Leftists always seek to remove the voices of those who oppose them.
Speculation has run rampant over why Fox News and Tucker Carlson cut ties. I don’t know what the final straw was, but I know why the leftists wanted him off the air. First, he was somewhere to the right of Stalin. Second, they really don’t like it when people mock them, and Tucker was really good at mocking them. The faces he made at leftist nonsense are legendary. Third, he said things that the left does not want people to hear. He showed video surveillance of peaceful protesters on January 6. He talked about biolabs in Ukraine. He reported that Blackrock was an owner of both Fox News and Dominion. He asked questions that both Big Media and Big Brother did not want asked. And he wouldn’t stop doing it. Thus he had to be silenced.
So CNN fired their worst commentator this week for under-performing. Meanwhile, Fox News upped the ante by cutting ties with their highest-rated commentator, lost a billion dollars doing it, and lefties all over the world applauded and cheered with great vigor. I can guess why, but I won’t here. But this weekend Tucker Carlson addressed the Heritage Foundation where he spoke about a great many things. As he often does. Many jokes that lots of people laughed at that are rather surreal after the fact. Whether you are a fan of not, I suggest everyone track down and watch this address. It was eye-opening. I don’t know where Tucker will go from there, but he is talented. If he wants to step up and do something, I think he will succeed at it.
Six years ago, Fox News cut ties with the highest rated news commentator in cable news. Bill O’Reilly. This week, they cut ties with the new highest rated news commentator in cable news. Tucker Carlson. Who had half the viewers of O’Reilly six years ago. And O’Reilly in his new gig got a big bump in viewers this week. It’s amazing how the circle goes. Fox News ownership has gone hard left in the last few years, and they were rather jubilant on-camera at having beaten Trump in 2020, so cutting ties with a commentator Trump voters watch is not a surprise. Others have been cut already, and I expect more cuts. Fox is trying to reinvent itself, and I think it will succeed. My question is whether or not Fox will survive the reinvention.
