It’s a good thing that some of the prisoners kidnapped on October 7 are going to be returned. But remember something. The people who were kidnapped were just going about their lives that day. Some were at a music party. Others were just at home. They were normal people, minding their own business. That’s who Israel wants back. Hamas wants their convicted murderers back. That’s the difference between civilized nations and terrorists. We are not the same.
Tuesday saw the beginning of the confirmation hearings for the President Elect’s appointments. Pete Hegseth was first to take the gauntlet, and after an hours’ long hearing that pitted him against the best and brightest the Democrats had to offer, we now know without a shadow of a doubt that he will not give Trump his advice and consent to appointing them to any positions in the administration. They confirmed their complete and utter lack of any of the attributes we want in our public servants, and we should thank Pete Hegseth for unveiling their utter unsuitability to the task of Making America Great Again. 🙂
California has been on fire for the last week, and it is not an Act of God. Oh, some of the fires might be, but numerous people have been arrested for starting fires on purpose, both by police and civilians. Then there are the other reports. The reservoirs aren’t full, some entirely empty, after two years of record rainfall. Many fire hydrants are just missing. Others have no water pressure. Los Angeles reduced fire department funding by 17 million dollars to focus on DEI from top down. Dry brush wasn’t sufficiently cleared during the off season to starve fires of fuel. And now we’re getting reports from firefighters from other States that California is intercepting and stopping them when they are driving in to help fight the fires. This is a Man Made Disaster, and I hope everybody remembers it going forward.
The adrenaline rush of being in an accident is something that has to be experienced to believed. At first I felt nothing. Full emotional lockdown as i was only concerned with whether or not I was fully functional. I was. Fifteen minutes later, the shakes came as the first adrenaline dump wore off and I started being happy. A couple hours later, that one wore off and I got depressed. Ended up going to bed and woke up good. But spent the next day going up and down as more doses of adrenaline spiked or tapered off as my body sometimes overreacted to stimulus. It took me two days to normalize again, and I still feel on edge. Adrenaline is a powerful drug.
Some years ago, me and Mom traded both of our 100k mile cars in on a new to us vehicle at 40k miles. A Jeep Compass we shared for the rest of her life and that I paid off this month. She is all mine, free and clear. At 70k miles, she has a lot of good years ahead of her, and I intend to use the payments im not paying anymore to Dave Ramsey the Biden debt I have been saddled with. Well, on Friday, some kids turned left in front of me and there was nothing I could do to stop what came next. They were moving so fast they spun me 90 degrees and both gas bags went off. That was just unpleasant. I do not like chemical burns on my hands, and the smell of the propellants is downright unfriendly. I rate the whole experience as 1 out of 10, do not recommend…
