I just finished another story. This one for an anthology about unicorns and other mythical equines. I found a real life unicorn to write about. The HMS Unicorn in Dundee Scotland. Defender of the Firth of Kay. Host to a unicorn spirit that commands the local water spirits to protect the entire bay from the salt-water spirits that rule the North Sea. And Captain William Carter just happens to show up the day one of the great storms of history attacked Scotland. Which is when my story begins.

Does Canada do anything other than burn lately?

I think I just had one of the most miserable days I’ve ever had in Minnesota yesterday. Somewhere close to what that nearly 100 degree day at the State Fair was a few years back. I felt like I was melting from the heat and humidity, and the air sucked so bad just stepping outside hurt. I have a profound dislike of dirty air like that. The air should not stink. The air should not have colors in it. Air should be clear and clean. This… air coming down from Canada is none of these things, and I do not like it.

More Dirty Air

So fires really suck. I mean, there can be good reasons for them. They burn down what is there and allow new growth to come up in a different way. But when the fires are so massive they darken the skies of entire States, I have to ask God if he really thought this all the way through. I mean, I trust him and all. But there are times I have to ask what the plan is and if this is actually helping that plan. Because I live in the Midwest where the air is clear. There shouldn’t be colors of air. And when there are colors to air, it changes how I look at it all.

Chinese Voter Fraud

Trump had a very interesting national address last night talking about Chinese voter fraud in 2020, and the way the American intelligence services actually helped them. I know certain people don’t want you to listen to it, but it is actually short by Trump standards at just around half an hour. I would strongly suggest you take a listen. He says he’s got proof for what he is saying and is publishing it.

Now whether you like Trump or not, if what he says in this speech is true, do you think it is good for America for our government to do stuff like that? I consider it to be not many steps removed from the fall of the Republic. And this is not the first time I’ve seen people talk about stuff like this. It’s been in Congressional hearings. It’s been in the words of goverment leakers and whistleblowers. This is the first time I think that official government documents have been published to support it though, I think.

If this speech is largely accurate, and I think it is based on what i have read and seen, then this touches a very bad point in American history. A point that may have broken our Republic so badly it will never recover. Or maybe a point we step away from and learn to stop before it breaks us all.

Dirty Air

We’ve got bad air right now in Minnesota. Dirty air. There are fires in the Boundary Waters bad enough that they are evacuating cities in the north of the State. Which is really impressive. Minnesota doesn’t tend to get air this dirty. You can actually see the haze in the air down in southern Minnesota. Which is also really impressive. I am very glad to have a good air filter in my house right now. Because I don’t want too much dirty air in my house if I can help it.
