Independence Day
Over two centuries ago, our forefathers wrestled with the idea of breaking away from their country. They loved their country. They wanted to make it better. More representative. They had tried to do this for years. For decades. Again and again they sought redresses to their grievances, but their country, their government, refused to address their concerns. It actually leaned on them harder for daring to demand change. And so they came together to consider the one thing they had sought to avoid for so long. A sundering of the ties that bound them to their nation. Their country. Their king. Never forget what drove those men to that choice. Never forget what they did and what they built once they made it. Happy Independence Day.
