Three years ago, the House of Representatives introduced a charge to Impeach Trump for “incitement of insurrection” and “lawless action at the Capitol,” five days after he told the crowd to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,” when they went to the permitted Capitol Protest. The House Speaker gave an ultimatum to the Vice President to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump within 24 hours. The Vice President declined and so the House officially Impeached Trump on January 25, after Trump’s term ended and he took Air Force One on one final flight to his home in Florida. A Senate trial acquitted him of all charges on February 13, 2021. Three years later, Trump’s name has been banned from the ballots of two States for inciting an insurrection.
