When the rich son of a Corporate magnate won the Presidency of San Santiago, Central Council bureaucrats objected to even counting his votes. They declared him an illegitimate President, a Manchurian Candidate, and called for protests against his Communist regime. And when he weathered their efforts to cancel his votes, they refused to attend his inauguration. Council supporters rioted and started fires around the capitol. And when the fire department came to save the cathedral across the street from the capitol, they attacked the fire fighters. It took capitol police to contain the violence and the fires so they could bring the new President to his new home. History would prove it to be one of the quieter days of his term in office.
