Israel and Iran
I was not looking forward to a war with Iran. I really don’t want America to be in one. There was a time I would have. Back when I was young and dumb and thought we could roll in with Freedom and help build newer and better nations. I was wrong. I now understand that the people running our government really suck at nation building. They are really good at getting young men killed, but not so good at building functional governments. And so I no longer support anything like it.
That said, I do take a general glee at the idea of watching Israel killing terrorists and the people who fund and train of terrorists. And so I am filled with mixed opinions about this recent conflict. But I absolutely love how they did it. They smuggled in drones, waited until the right time, used the drones to take out the local air defenses, and then flew their jets in to plaster their targets. F-35s in first due to their stealth, with F-16s and F-15s moving behind them as the F-35s clear the road.
It truly is amazing to see an air attack like this. NATO dirty tricks get real effective when you have a real air force to take advantage of them. I am cheering the Israelis on. I do hope the Iranians agree to end their long war with Israel. Stop pursuing the atomic bomb. Stop funding the terrorists. All the fun jazz. I don’t expect it, you understand. But I am hopeful that we will see a good end to this. Preferably before too many civilians get killed.
