I finished another short story this weekend. Clocking in at a beefy 9.4k words, it is for an open call asking for between 6k and 10k size stories. So it is inside the range basket. They were asking for manuscript format I have never used before, so that took a bit of study and research to adopt for them. But I hit the open call. Now to sit back and wait and find out if they want it for their antho.

Whatever the case, another Captain William Carter story is in the basket. Bill returns home to New Haven in 1839, after having spent time fighting for the Texians in their bid for independence, and finds out that there are gargoyles hiding in New Haven. Gargoyles, bad tidings from the north, and an old Indian face he has not seen since he was young standing next to the Gothic Church on the New Haven Green.

What happens next is, of course, the rest of the story that I hope you will all get to read soon.
