Jack of Harts

Another public man dies and the Crowd Goes Wild again. We see a lot of that these days. Charlie was shot in the neck and Lefties celebrated online. Reenacted the moment with laughter and joy and dance moves. Lindsey drops dead of a heart attack and the Crowd Goes Wild again. We see it again and again, and the celebrations never end. They just flow one into the other.

And every time I see it, I remember two things. 1. I plan to live forever. 2. If I fail in that plan, I hope Lefties cheer at my death just as much as they do these others. It will mean I did something and stood for something good. So yeah. I actually like watching the little monsters cheer at the deaths of their foes. It tells the rest of us humans who did things that were worthy of doing.

And then of course there is number 3. I want the devils to go “oh shit, the bastard just leveled up.”
