I ran BattleTech at Castlecon all weekend.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
I had the BattleTech CCG, Alpha Strike, BattleTech Encounters, and 1985 BattleTech.
The one thing people didn’t play this year was the CCG. Some noticed it and wanted to play it again, but no one actually pulled the trigger.
The Alpha Strike was the busiest, with some people coming back from previous years to do it again, others were new, and some kids just wanted to play a game they already knew so asked if they could play a game on it. I always said yes.
I had a couple people play the original BattleTech, but most walked by it. There was a lot of “I used to play this game” said over my table.
The surprise to me is just how popular BattleTech Encounters is. Everybody who played ended with a pronouncement that they were going to find and buy it. Every single one. None of them were interested. None liked it and went on. Everyone said it was just a fun game that they were going to buy for their friends to play.

I think Catalyst may have just hit pay dirt with that game.
