One of the things that Transformers has pretty much always done is that there are basic Transformer modes in fiction.

There are basic Seekers, Vehicon Drones, Autotroopers, and various others.

Bumblebee is often called a scout designated B127. Plus there are many other basic models of Transformers. Hauler bots. Tanks. Helicopters.

We often see them in video games as basic troopers we end up fighting a lot, with the individually named Transformers being bosses or minibosses.

I have gone with this basic idea in my Rebirth story, with the Security Bot being a basic small Transformer design. One named version of that is Cog, the scout drone for Fortress Maximus.

He rather likes that little guy, so when he first rebuilt his first body and didn’t have the resources to build his full-scale fortress body, he built Cog and fought with him.

It’s one of the little deep dive bits of Transformers lore I have my fan fiction story.
