Walter Koenig is dead. I grew up watching him on Trek. B5 as a young adult. He wasn’t Chekov. He was so much more. A true talent who could play the one note wonders or the complex Greek tragedies. And yet he embraced the Trek with joy. And stayed with Trek until the very end, voicing a ship in Picard Season 3 if my information is accurate. He acted in fan productions and official alike. He was a better actor than most people know, and he went out to meet the fans of one of the least complex characters he ever played. The world is dimmer today. For Koenig. A toast. Vodka, in its original Russian.
