Jack of Harts

The Peloran did not actually give us high technology.  Not much at least.  They gave us basic gravitic tech and improved hyperdrives generations ahead of our technology, but they were far below true Peloran technology.  They gave us a taste, a very good taste, and then taught us what we needed to know to design those same technologies on our own.  In the words of an old parable, they taught us how to fish.
