Trump survived another assassination attempt. But the assassin is a known actor. He’s been recruiting people to fight in the Ukraine. He has a felony conviction for owning a WMD without a tax stamp. As seems usual with shooters, he was on the FBI’s radar. Driving a stolen car ready to run away in. GoPro setup so he could take pictures of his score. But he flew from Hawaii to Florida. Who did he get the long gun from? Who removed the serial number? And he was there for twelve hours. Why didn’t anybody scout the perimeter? It was his close in security that saved the day here. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered.

Here we go again with another assassination attempt. It seems the guy decided to camp out on the edge of the golf course at Mar-a-Lago, in some shrubbery, surrounded by some friends. Backpacks with ceramic armor. Some nice friends with barrels. One nice one with a scope that is really good for long range fun. And nobody stopped him. Nobody realized this guy was there, camped out for half a day, before a round of golf that was not on President Trump’s public itinerary. A member of his close in support team patrolled ahead of Trump to make sure the next hole was secure, and he noticed a barrel sticking out of the shrubbery. That’s how close we were to someone assassinating Trump. One eagle-eyed member of the secret service patrolling ahead of the group saw something that shouldn’t be there and went rock and roll on the bad guy. We’ve already had First Assassination. Now we’ve had Second Assassination. How many times makes it enemy action again?

Computers are a quantum leap in our economic capability. Computers make it easier and quicker to write stories for authors, to do accounting for businesses, to calculate orders and final bills in EVERY business, artists use computers to save their art and transmit it to the web, and there are a host of other uses. Almost every business in the world has at least one desktop or laptop computer where they do their accounting. But access to a computer at home has never been total. It peaked at around 90% back in the teens and has dropped back down to around 80% in the 20s because some people only have phones now. And the increase in remote learning only schools in the last 4 years means that many students don’t even have access to what became a hallmark of American schools in the 90s. The computer lab. A significant number of students graduating from high school this year did not know how to use a computer. Had never used a computer. Had to be trained how to use a mouse and keyboard, how to start a program in windows, and a host of other things every single student learned in the past. I find that terrifying. I don’t think any of us realize the effect that is going to have on our economy moving forward.
