Deadpool and Wolverine

I watched Deadpool and Wolverine Friday night. The place I was at had theatres starting the show every half hour. I and a friend went to a 5:30 showing, getting in just before the true evening rush, and it was still full. I think this is going to be a big weekend for them. And without any spoilers, this was a fun and enjoyable movie. Good for kids 25 years and older. Violence. Blood. So much language. And a heartfelt story that choked me up more than once. And the cameos. Oh, the cameos. THIS is how you do cameos right. Every single one meant something, and they all had at least one moment to shine. It was a celebration of Marvel movies released across four decades. And some of the people who got the least recognition got the most amazing scenes. Because Ryan Reynolds is a fucking fan. And this movie was a lot of fucking fun to watch. I hope everybody who wants to see this movie gets to see it before it gets spoiled for them.

Chaos in the Capital

The Israeli Prime Minister came to America this week. They are one of our allies and are fighting a war against a terrorist organization that murdered over a thousand people in ways beyond the imagination of most civilized people and kidnapped over a hundred. Biden did not greet him. Harris did not greet him. And when he addressed the American Congress, Harris as President of the Senate did not appear. Half her Democrat colleagues did not attend. And outside, Pro-Hamas activists tore down American flags and burned them, assaulted American citizens, and generally did their best to bring chaos to the capital of America. Because we hosted the leader of an ally who is fighting terrorists who murdered people and are still holding Americans hostage.

And wouldn’t you know it, those same folks, who have spent the last four years telling us that Biden is as sharp as ever, faster than they are, and more than capable of running this country with his keen wit, are now telling us that Harris is the best ever… The smartest and nicest and most diverse candidate to ever run for the Presidency…

Assassination Aftermath

President Trump survived an assassination two Saturdays ago. This week, the head of the Secret Service answered a subpoena to testify before Congress and told them a whole bunch of I don’t knows and we don’t have that informations. She has no recordings of the comm traffic the day Trump was shot for instance, even though keeping those recordings is normal. She couldn’t say why nobody secured the building the shooter used. Couldn’t say how many shells were found on the roof. Couldn’t say anything about the drone the shooter flew over the scene. Or why the shooter was never contacted, even though the locals saw him and lost him multiple times. Or why Trump was put on stage when both the locals and the Secret Service KNEW there was a suspicious person walking around with a range finder. In short, she withheld information from Congress. At the same time, a round robin of pointing fingers is going on as the locals say the Secret Service didn’t show up for meetings and the Secret Service says the locals didn’t do what they were told. Even the Democrats were pissed with her, and she’s gone now. But it feels like the coverup is already in place, and I’m not hopeful that we will find out what went wrong the day Trump was shot. I don’t like that feeling.

Presidential Chaos

It other news, Biden got sick with Covid last Wednesday and we haven’t seen him since. A tweet announced his withdrawal from the Presidential race on Sunday and we haven’t seen him since. Where is he? Who is running the White House? Can we get a Proof of Life picture of our President?
