Some people use skulls and bones as their symbols.  Many in my family did, as did I when I attended Yale.  I was going to do great things in secret for that society.  Then the Shang came.  I found a new symbol to use then, one that fit my new values.  The wolf symbolizes how I stand with my new friends, my new pack.  I am proud to use the name Wolf.  Are you proud to let people see the symbols you live by?  If not, maybe you should change as I did.

Hello, my name is Jack

I have had the occasion to often deal with guns since the Shang came.  Sometimes I’ve been the one holding the gun, and sometimes I haven’t.  I do have a piece of advice though.  If you say “listen to the man with the gun” hold on tight to that gun or the other guy might just accept your conditions and take the gun.  I have done that in my time, and the shock on their faces as I do it is worth its weight in gold.

Hello, my name is Betty

Some people think the destination is the reason for the journey.  They think there is no reason to go anyplace except for the place you plan on stopping at.  I don’t like to stop.  For me it is the journey itself that is the reason to go any place.  I love just seeing things I’ve never seen before, and I love going places not many have gone before.  The backroads, the roads less traveled, those are the best way to travel, and the best places to never stop.

Today we celebrate Thanksgiving.  It is an American holiday where we give thanks to God for guiding our earliest colonists to the New World.  The journey took months, through stormy waters, and many ships foundered over the years.  But we kept coming, looking for a New World where we could be free from the oppression of the One True Religion of the States we left behind.  And so we thank God for bringing us here were we could build that New World.

Hello, my name is Jack

You know the difference between Men and Boys?  Boys make excuses for their failures.  Men plan to succeed.  Boys go around making babies. Men raise children.  Boys go out and party.  Men go out and work.  I used to be a real good Boy, or a real bad one according to some.  I used to party for a living.  Now I work for a living, and party for fun.  There is a real big difference between the two.
