Twilight’s last season showed Americans snippets of the outside world along with the fighting in Detroit. They showed us glimpses of a peaceful Tehran after the Persian Revolution, and Israeli flags over Syria. We saw the newly renamed Constantinople looking out over the remnants of Greece and Turkey. And we saw the war still going on in North Africa. The Islamic State of Detroit stood nearly alone in a world where the other Islamic States had already been brought low by internal rebellion or foreign armies. The Jihad would continue to go on for decades, but Twilight showed us how the last of the Islamic States died.
