Jack of Harts

The Jack of Harts universe has many alien races that are human, and others that were genetically engineered in some way from humans. The Albion were real crackerjack gengineers back in the day, and created all kinds of creatures. Some worked. Many did not. The highest creations in their minds were humaniform with the stable and reproducible abilities of other species. Humans who could live in space, under water, fly, change appearances. Or regrow lost limbs. Even see the future. All of their efforts were aimed towards improving the human race at a genetic level so it could face the tests of the future. It was their highest calling. Their holy calling. Their religion.
