The Jack of Harts universe is filled with many human races whose homes are not Earth. The Ennead were one of the most powerful of these races back in the day. They were accomplished gengineers like the Albion, and created many interesting and powerful races that can still be found to this day. Though many are erroneously credited to the Albion. The Ennead uplifted many species to human intelligence levels, and upgraded them in many other ways. Crossing the abilities of various species to make them stronger and better servants and soldiers. They experimented on other species to learn enough to purify the human race of the genetic rot that aged and killed us all before our time. To make the human race what we were meant to be. Immortal.
