Tragic Accidents
We’ve had two tragic airline accidents this week. The one in Washington DC and now one in Philadelphia involving a Lear jet that just fell out of the sky. In Washington, information continues to come out. All of the safety systems meant to keep low flying visual flying aircraft below the level that instrument flight aircraft fly at appear to have been not working. Which could explain why the Black Hawk was flying above its safety ceiling, in the air corridor set aside for the airline jet coming into a landing on instruments only. We don’t know why the jet in Philadelphia fell yet. But all the evidence we have so far suggests that the accident in Washington DC was because all of safety programs designed to stop aircraft from crashing in mid-air were not implemented correctly. Both mechanical and personnel. This accident at least may have been a complete failure of the entire aviation industry in our nation. If the current information we have is accurate.
