If you have been paying any attention at all, you have probably heard the recent news about Gaza. Trump says the US is going to take over, tear it down, and build it better.

To be honest, I am nervous about this. We may have a good record of rebuilding places that like us. Western Europe, Japan, South Korea. Our record at rebuilding places that do not like us is somewhat less stellar. Iraq. Afghanistan.

I have no doubt that we can tear it down and rebuild it better than ever. We are very good at doing that. I am rather less optimistic on the point of whether or not the people living there will appreciate our efforts.
