Jack of Harts

Joanna is a faery of the old school. She’s never said exactly old you understand, but she is not one of the new, young flighty faeries. She has seen worlds burn and rise and burn again. She has fought things and seen things that would strike terror in the hearts of men. And in the 1870s, as Earth currently dates things, she found a man willing to brave the faery wilds. He saved her soul, and so she gave him her true name in fair trade. Faery debts have to be repaid in kind, you see, so she walks the Earthen wilds now. And so she is also Joanna, a faery of the new school.
