This is your reminder that, right now, thirty four years ago, multiple agencies of the Federal Government were holding a siege at Ruby Ridge against a family who just wanted to live alone in the wilderness and not be bothered by anyone.

Instead he and a neighbor got into a legal land dispute and the neighbor lost in court. SO the neighbor told the feds that Weaver had threatened to shoot the Pope, the President, and a bunch of other people. When they heard about this, the Weaver family actually went to court and filed a case saying that they thought people were trying to get the feds to attack and kill them.

The government later sent an informant to get Weaver to shorten the barrel of his shotgun. When Weaver didn’t shorten it enough, the guy went back to him to tell him he needed it shorter. THEN the government charged him with cutting the barrel down too short and sent him the wrong court date. THEN they declared him guilty of not going to court. THEN they sent armed agents onto his property. They threw rocks at the house to draw the dog, the son, and a family friend outside the house. Then they shot and killed the dog. And when his son and family friend shot back at the armed intruders who shot their dog on their land, they shot the friend and the son. When the son ran away, they shot in the back and killed him. During the standoff, they would shoot Weaver in the back while he was attending to his son’s body, shot his friend, and shot his wive in the head and killed her while she was holding their youngest child.

THEN they charged him and the family friend with murder for killing one of the armed intruders that killed his son because they wanted to cover up all of their wrong doing with a tidy little guilty conviction that would tie it all up in a nice bow. But the jury did not convict. The only thing Weaver was convicted of was of missing the original court date, a court date he was told was a different date, and his bail violations, for which he was sentenced to a fine of 10,000 dollars and 18 months in prison. Because a federal informant came to him twice, demanding he cut a shotgun shorter than the law allowed. And that’s something he should not have done. But the government entrapped him into doing it. And then they killed his dog, his son, and his wife. Shot him and his friend. And then arrested him and put him in jail to cover it up.

That is what the government will do to an American citizen who wants to go away into the deepest parts of the American wilderness and raise his family away from all the government commands. A lot of really deep investigations and major court cases have proven that everything the feds did was worse than this very short summary was. There are government officials walking around right now that should be in prison for the crimes they committed before and during that siege.

The fact that they are NOT in prison for abusing their powers as government officials to kill American citizens is one of the reasons I do not trust the government of the United States. I want government officials to go to prison every time they use their power to kill American citizens if their use of that power cannot be defended before a jury of the American people. Because government officials should not get a “get out of jail free” card for killing Americans simply because they represent the government. And more than one government official got that at Ruby Ridge.
