Jack of Harts

Gamma Hydrae is an odd system. We hadn’t colonized it yet when the Peloran made Contact. It was over a hundred lightyears from Earth, and nearly as far away from other inhabited systems. It was in a dead-end region of space that we just didn’t bother with. After we got the Peloran hyperdrives though we finally managed to go there. Of course there wasn’t a lot there. Just a bunch of asteroids and some old planets. Nothing special. Or so we thought.
