The irony of their names has never been lost on Sherlock and Watson. In many ways they actually played on the irony when they recreated their avatars for a Second Great Depression-Era world. Sherlock’s London Fog trenchcoat, Christy’s of London fedora, and Fly London boots both harkened back to those old novels and gave him a look all his own for modern times. Watson even echoed that look for a time, and he still wears it in London and other British metropolitan areas.
