Texas Tech’s principal had a plan during the Second Great Depression and the drug wars between America and Mexico. She had some understandings with the drug lords and had been doing her best to throw roadblocks up in the way of Dixie, the students, and the faculty as they fought the drug lords. Some of the roadblocks worked. But Dixie and her allies found their way around most of them. In the end, the drug lords demanded a permanent solution to the Dixie problem. They executed it on graduation day.
