Our early conquests in the Hyades Campaign were difficult to pacify. The Chinese deployed weapons of mass destruction to leave ruins in their wake, and then accused us of using the weapons. It was a brilliant strategy in many ways. The survivors did not trust us after that, and it is difficult to bring law and order to an area when the locals do not trust those enforcing the law. We needed a new plan. We knew the colonists did not like their rulers, but we were “the other” that could not be trusted either. We had many lessons to learn when it came to dealing with the Chinese culture. We had a crash course in it.
