Birthdays come and birthdays go, and some friends like to have friends over to play games. I resemeble that remark, as do my friends. This weekend is one of those things, and we are having fun playing BattleTech. It is a good fau to roll dice.
So now the FAA has secured certain air spaces against drone traffic. Just put out a general announcement that certain areas are no-fly zones for drones. New Jersey. New York City. You know. The general areas where people have been reporting these odd drones that the government has been telling us don’t exist for the last month. And if what I’ve read is accurate, the FAA has even authorized “deadly force” against them. I sure would like to know what’s going on that’s got the feds all up in a twist over it…
In what I’m certain is the least surprising news of the week, administration mouth pieces have stated that Law Enforcement Drones are included in the number of drones that have been flying over New Jersey over the last weeks. Let me put on my shocked face. But for some reason, they declined to say what the drones are doing flying over New Jersey. In what I’m certain is a totally unrelated event, some weeks ago a shipment of radioactive waste was found damaged and without the radioactive waste. In New Jersey. You trust the government to tell us if those two unrelated incidents are related, don’t you?
If you are a gamer, you probably have The Campaign. The one big game you either have played or want to play all your life. For me that is the Human Sphere, a BattleTech campaign that counts the Chaos March as the last fully canon BattleTech sourcebook and moves forward into an alternate Jihad and an alternate campaign setting specifically designed to support small unit actions between the two or three dozen major factions. For my gamer friend John, it is just The Campaign. An alternate BattleTech campaign setting specifically designed to support small unit actions between the half dozen Inner Sphere factions. I played in his campaign many many moons ago. Whelp. Now I’m doing it again. And I’m even painting mechs for it again. Yeah. It’s that serious.
The times are changing, and everybody is paying attention to what the incoming President is saying and doing? He is going to Paris to attend the grand opening of a church that was burned down. World leaders are coming to Florida to talk to him. But whose actually in charge right now? The Lame Duck administration is busy shoveling things out the door on the way out. Pardons. Commutations. Getting rid of building materials Trump got for the border wall. Sending tax money out to non-government organizations so they can continue operating after Jan 20. Publishing new regulations. They may be Lame Ducks, but they still have the levers of power, and they are using those levers to sabotage the incoming administration every way they can…
