So while I was on vacation, a New York City jury was pondering over whether or not they should convict a Marine who protected women and children on a subway who were being threatened by a criminal high on drugs saying that someone was going to die. The fact that a self-defense case this blatant was even taken to trial should be excellent evidence at the prosecutor’s impeachment hearing. The jury found the Marine not guilty, which is a good start. I hope to see more of these malicious prosecutions thrown out by the juries in the future. Better yet, let’s get rid of the prosecutors that bring them while leaving the real criminals out on the streets and subways so they can threaten women and children.
I’m home from KSAGG. The Fifth Annual Krull Siblings Annual Gathering of Gamers. And the first one taking place in the old FFG gaming center. It was a fun time that included around one hundred gamers coming to place Alpha Strike and BattleTech. Somewhere around a dozen game masters and organizers ran the gamers through three Alpha Strike tournaments and one major BattleTech event, each bringing around twenty players a piece, and several smaller events brought players as well. I and a couple other grey beards ushered two newbies through the BattleTech Grinder, and I ran two through a Alpha Strike demos and one through BattleTech Encounters. It was a successful convention by all involved, and I loved it.
I’m coming home from KSAGG. That’s the Krull Siblings Annual Gathering of Gamers. It is absolutely not Krull Sisters A-Go-Go. It’s been a fun three days of BattleTech-themed gaming, and I am happy to have been here with all the friends I hadn’t met yet. Gaming truly does bring people together.
This weekend I’ve been attending the first public all-BattleTech convention I’ve ever heard of in America. The official and marketable name is Krull Siblings Annual Gathering of Gamers. If you remember it as Krull Sisters A-Go-Go, that is the past, and we are men, not archeologists. We do not dig up the past. 😉 It is three days of playing nothing but BattleTech and BattleTech-related games. I brought an army for the 350-tournament rules, an Alpha Strike Demo Set, the new BattleTech Encounters game, and a pair of miniatures for the painting contest. That’s a fairly light load for me when I come to conventions. But this is also the first gaming convention I’ve been to in many years. So I’m coming in light.
