Three large rallies were permitted on January 6, 2021, for the Ellipse where Trump spoke, and the nearby Freedom Plaza and Washington Monument, for a total of 75,000 people. Most estimates outside the true Leftist sources say the protests blew those numbers out of the water. Many people to this day say a million people showed up. EVERY estimate I’ve seen says that at least thousands ended up going over to the Capitol after Trump’s speech, where the Capitol Police had actually approved SIX different permits for demonstrations surrounding the Capitol. But the dirty little secret is that they limited each to 50 people due to Covid restrictions. So they can say that even the thousands of Peaceful Protestors were there without authorization because of Covid code…
Over 1,000 people have been arrested and charged related to January 6. Less than 300 for violent offenses. And they’ve said in the past they intend to bring in another 1,000. The Biden Administration just upped the ante though, by sending a U.S. Attorney out to note that they have so far chosen to primarily target people who actually entered the Capitol. “But, if a person knowingly entered the restricted area without authorization, they had already committed a federal crime.” He continued by saying that thousands of people were there without authorization. And yet the Capitol Police approved the permits for the protest. Six permits for demonstrations in all, which means that protestors were authorized to be there. Or at least thought they were.
Three years after January 6, less than 300 Protestors have been charged with a violent crime. What violence did they commit? Many charges say they pushed or struck Officers. Many are charged with using their flagpoles as weapons. Many with using bear spray, pepper spray, and similar irritants. Some with using other weapons of opportunity obtained on the Capitol grounds. I’ve even seen a few accused of using batons and similar devices. I’ve heard rumors of blades or firearms, but can’t find charges of them in the publicly available databases. These are not the charges you see after thousands of people show up to commit an “armed insurrection.” This is what you see when thousands of people come to protest something, and a small, fringe element gets violent.
Three years ago, the House of Representatives introduced a charge to Impeach Trump for “incitement of insurrection” and “lawless action at the Capitol,” five days after he told the crowd to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,” when they went to the permitted Capitol Protest. The House Speaker gave an ultimatum to the Vice President to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump within 24 hours. The Vice President declined and so the House officially Impeached Trump on January 25, after Trump’s term ended and he took Air Force One on one final flight to his home in Florida. A Senate trial acquitted him of all charges on February 13, 2021. Three years later, Trump’s name has been banned from the ballots of two States for inciting an insurrection.
In the three years since January 6, the Federal government has conducted an international manhunt for as many as 2,000 American citizens they say entered the Capitol that day, including those who walked in through open doors manned by the Capitol Police and those who broke in through other entrances. The government-aligned media focuses on the total number, not so much on the less than 300 charged with violent crimes. But we don’t know who planted the pipe bombs at the DNC and RNC offices. We don’t know who broke down the barriers around the Capitol. We don’t know who built the gallows. We don’t who the mostly-masked men shouting for violence were. And how many FBI agents were there. Why don’t we know these things?
