Remember that the self-styled President of Venezuela asked us to come. The video I saw looks real to me, and I’m an awful suspicious sort when it comes to this kind of stuff.

And as suspicious as I am, I think the video is real. That he really was boasting like a dictator and daring us to come in and take him. It’s the common tough guy act. Tell someone you think is too scared to do something to come do it, and show how tough you are when they don’t. When they back down and run away.

The problem is that America is a lot like the fae. Do not idly make deals with us, because we enforce our deals before the court. And one never knows what part of the deal we will enforce. In this case, we offered him a lot of deals to walk out quietly. Deals we would have honored to the letter. Whatever that letter was. So he told us to come in and take him. So we did. He offered us the deal and we took it.

And what did we do? Did we shoot him on the spot? No. We had a far worse punishment in mind.

We are taking him before the court.
