The new President of San Santiago did not have a quiet term in office. The news networks and Council bureaucrats investigated him to reveal how deep into the Communist conspiracy to overthrow the government he and his advisors really were. The Council-aligned parties declared war on him and sought to stop his every initiative. Colonial voters and the Corporate parties generally maintained their support of him, arguing that none of the charges had been substantiated, but many politicians in the middle declared the President too toxic to support and walked away. Despite all of this, he used his Executive power to change regulations that expanded the economy and brought record-breaking quality of life improvements to the common Santiagan. The Colonists loved him.
When the rich son of a Corporate magnate won the Presidency of San Santiago, Central Council bureaucrats objected to even counting his votes. They declared him an illegitimate President, a Manchurian Candidate, and called for protests against his Communist regime. And when he weathered their efforts to cancel his votes, they refused to attend his inauguration. Council supporters rioted and started fires around the capitol. And when the fire department came to save the cathedral across the street from the capitol, they attacked the fire fighters. It took capitol police to contain the violence and the fires so they could bring the new President to his new home. History would prove it to be one of the quieter days of his term in office.

The rich son of a Corporate magnate beat the Central Council candidate for the Presidency of San Santiago in an unexpected landslide. But the Council candidate had an insurance policy. She had paid someone to assemble a file suggesting he was a Chinese Communist asset. So she publicly accused him of voter fraud and labeled him an illegitimate President, a literal Manchurian Candidate that only the worst kind of closet Communists would vote for. She called on her supporters to go to protest the illegitimate election and stand against the Communist takeover of their world. “Not Our President” protests soon filled the streets of the capital, and the news networks broadcast her charges and footage of the protests across the planet and the rest of the sector.
This Sunday was Easter, one of the two biggest Christian Holidays out there. One of the Big Seven Holidays in America. Christians and non-Christians alike celebrate it every year in both religious and non-religious ways. Christians celebrate the Cross and Christ’s Resurrection. Non-Christians have fun with the Easter Bunny and decorating eggs. Many people celebrate both. And Biden and other elected Democrats celebrated Trans Visibility Day on Easter Sunday. I did not post this yesterday because people might think I was pulling their legs. It sounds ridiculous but it is not. This happened. And it shows their frame of mind very well. It demonstrates rather clearly the nature of their religion.
